    McGinley & PILA

    Application Form
  • As a reflection of the Law School’s long-standing commitment to public service advancing our system of laws and government, Duquesne Kline Law’s McGinley Public Service Law Fellowships enable students who volunteer in a public service position during the summer to receive funding. Qualifying positions may be in all three branches of government and the work should involve legal and legislative issues.

PILA Fellowships enable students who volunteer with non-profit legal services organizations that provide direct legal services to underrepresented populations to receive funding.

Students must independently secure placements. Students must volunteer a minimum of hours to receive a full award (200 hours for PILA and 150 hours for McGinley). Students volunteering for fewer hours will have awards pro-rated. To qualify for funding, students may not receive academic credit or funding from another source for the volunteer hours.

Complete and submit this form and all supporting documentation no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2026. Applications will not be accepted after this deadline.

Direct questions to Ella Kwisnek, Associate Dean for Students.
