Bridges to Health (B2H) Visual Voices Activity Participant Information:
During our B2H Collaborative Fall gathering, the Duquesne University Center for Integrative Health will be conducting a research study about what helps people thrive in their communities using the Visual Voices method. We are interested in hearing your perspective as someone who lives, works, or serves in the B2H priority areas. The purpose of this study is to better understand the challenges people face and factors that help them thrive in the communities served by B2H. We will be conducting this research study with community and campus partners and community residents. What we learn may help guide programs, services, and partnerships.
If you choose to participate, you will take part in one Visual Voices session that will last about two hours. During the session, you will explore topics related to your life, your community, and your hopes for the future through painting, drawing, and writing activities.
Taking part in this study is completely voluntary. You are not required to participate if you do not want to. You can stop being in the study at any time. There are no known risks to participating. We will audio record the discussions that we will have so that we can accurately capture what is shared. The recording will be used to create notes. These notes will not include your name or other information that could identify you. All recordings and notes will be stored on a password protected, secure Duquesne University computer. Only the research team will have access to the recording and notes.
If you have questions about the study, you may contact Lisa Ripper by phone at 412-396-1906 or by email at ripperl@duq.edu. If you have questions about your rights as a research participant, you may contact Dr. David Delmonico, Chair of the Duquesne University Institutional Review Board, at delmonico@duq.edu.
Proceeding to the B2H meeting RSVP form indicates your consent to participate. No signature or written agreement is required.
